MSNBC Breaking: Kurt Volker WILL be testifying (behind closed doors) to House on Friday.

Ambassador Marie L. Yovanovitch's testimony will be postponed from tomorrow to Friday October 11th. (She is still associated with the State Department in some way -- not clear to me if she is planning to come despite Pompeo's objection, or if she plans to resign by then.)

UPDATE

Now CNN is reporting that Volker is testifying tomorrow! I don't know if CNN is behind or ahead of MSNBC on the reporting.

3. I'm sure he has a lot to say, and top secret stuff too

When they go behind closed doors, a lot of times it's because of security clearances. Schiff won't use the term "top secret" to hide political stuff, only Chump and Repukes do that.

4. I don't think there was a plan for him to testify publicly Thursday. Was there?

My understanding is that his private Thursday meeting was changed to Friday.

7. Maybe not. I wish the portion that could be public would be made public.

I think we need public testimony to sink the Trump ship.

6. Closed hearings are bad, especially if Dems are trying to drum up support for impeachment.

It allows the Republicans to spin the testimony any way they want, regardless of the truth. Releasing a transcript after the fact is never as powerful as live video testimony.

8. They can always hold an open door hearing afterwards.

The closed door hearing allows them to learn what it is the person knows, without grandstanding from the R's to get in the way.
