Survival, profit, whatever he can get.

I think that his recent statements were hedging his bets. He'd throw Trump under the bus to save himself, no question about it.

If Trump is removed from office, the Republican electorate will splinter. So much so that we could actually take the Senate, which is highly unlikely as things currently stand.

If Trump is removed, 2020 will be a Democratic landslide.

7. There will likely be a vote on a motion to dismiss, possibly before the trial

Or even at some point during the trial or directly afterwords, and they could dispose of the House’s articles before voting on the question of conviction or aquital.

Dems must compile a mountain of hard evidence. Getting that server would be huge.

And Dems can't allow stonewalling or a flat refusal to appear. Hold people in contempt, have them arrested, whatever it takes.

11. There are two ways he can win
Tue Oct 1, 2019, 08:09 PM
Oct 2019

One, Trump maintains his base, and the base keeps the GOP Senators in line, and Trump is "vindicated". Or, Trump loses his base, and someone other than Trump is the GOP standard bearer in 2020, and the Turtle doesn't have Trump and his erratic behavior to deal with anymore.

He figures he's a shoo-in for re-election, he's mostly interested in holding on to his Senate majority. Even with a Democratic President, he's still got a lot of power if he can do that.
