It's easy to like Paul Ryan if you ignore the lies

I have a confession to make — I really want to like Paul Ryan. He's young, tall, fit and charismatic. His playlists starts with AC/DC and ends with Zeppelin. He's a small-town boy from Wisconsin who married a small-town girl from Oklahoma. And, who can't resist those piercing hazel-green eyes? In short, I look at Paul Ryan and am reminded of me. I'm young, I'm tall, I'm charismatic, I like Zeppelin, and I'm a small town boy from Oklahoma who married a small-town girl from Kansas (but I have piercing brown eyes).

<snip>

The Janesville GM plant closed in 2008 when George W. Bush was president and Obama was simply a candidate for president. Want a side of hypocrisy to go with that lie? Ryan finds himself the running mate for a candidate who penned an op-ed for The New York Times titled, "Let Detroit Go Bankrupt" and opposed the automobile bailouts that saved millions of job and didn't cost taxpayers a single dime. Ryan voted for that bailout.

Misrepresent once; misrepresent twice. Ryan would have you believe Obama was responsible for the loss of our AAA bond rating; however, Standard & Poors specifically cited congressional Republican refusal to raise the debt ceiling and willingness to default on our loan payments as the reason for the downgrade. The game of Russian roulette played by Paul Ryan and his pals led to the loss of our bond rating.

If you're going to misrepresent twice, then the third time's a charm? Ryan said, "President Obama has added more debt than any other president before him." Yes, our total debt is higher than it has ever been, but this isn't even half of the story. According to the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities, Obama's policies account for just under $1 trillion of our current debt added since he took office, while Bush's policies, primarily two wars and two tax cuts, account for $5.1 trillion. Additionally, the 45 percent increase in our debt is half of the percent increase under Bush — 85 percent. Ryan failed to mention that he voted for those two deficit-busting wars, voted for those two deficit-busting tax cuts, and voted for those eight deficit-busting budgets.

Seriously, what the hell is the point?

Smug, arrogant, Ayn-Rand follower who isn't attractive is not likeable regardless of the lies.

"I seriously don't think you grasp irony or anything nuanced."

...think the point is idiotic. There is nothing ironic about it. Not even the condescending tone of your comment can change that. It's pure bullshit.

I think Lyin Ryan looks goofy. He does not carry himself well when he walks - he struts - and he draws his mouth in when he talks (the true sign of a liar).

Yuck

3. Ryan epitomizes what few choices Mitt had, and he's a Whopper of a Liar, not a pretty boy either

Palin, Bachmann, Santorum, ... Mitt was probably wishing Paris Hilton had run and become a serious option :run:

marathon times and all?
The author is a straight man claiming a great attraction to Ryan, which is sort of like hearing an Orthodox Rabbi's opinion on the pulled pork.

Mitt, Ryan, Obama and Biden are all over 6 feet tall, no one short in this race this time.

I don't think Ryan is attractive in any way because he is cold and soulless. I actually prefer our VP, who is warm and engaging.

What is wrong with people?

But it's probably better to quote the non-partisan CBO rather than the partisan CBPP.
