If Trump gets people to believe that it wasn't Russia (Putin) who hacked our election, then he can lift sanctions on Russia.

Russia is a glorified gas station and it has an awful lot of gas and oil in the ground that it doesn't have the technology to get at.

Exxon Mobil was all set to drill in the arctic in Russia when we imposed sanctions. Remember when Russia gave Rex Tillerson the Medal of Freedom and how he laughed about being restrained from drilling? I'm sure that Trump promised Putin that he would get those sanctions removed.

He has a year to get the sanctions lifted. Maybe less if this impeachment gets momentum.

And he would like to disrupt NATO and the EU and he would like to get Ukraine back under Russian rule. Trump has been helping him at every turn.

The sanctions and resulting lack of revenue are causing the economy in Russia to decline, and so the general population's getting angry. Putin has done all kinds of covert power plays to hang on to power, but if the economy gets bad enough, the people are gonna toss him.

Putin needs the sanctions lifted; note Trump's efforts to shift blame for the election interference, AND his frequent references to Ukraine and Russia "working out a deal" over Crimea. Russia illegally invaded and occupied Crimea - why should Ukraine negotiate with Russia? Why would a US president promote such a thing?

I would not be surprised at all if Trump is two feet above his neck into Russian money laundering and thus held hostage, and/or Putin has promised a cut of oil/gas revenue to Trump and various republicans if they'll get sanctions lifted.

The Biden thing is just Trump's own struggle to hang on to the office, seeing his own personal opportunity in the vulnerability of Ukraine, directed by the people riding on his coattails - Giuliani, etc.... also, gotta hang on to the presidency if they're going to get the deal done for Putin.
