http://www.alternet.org/election-2012/meet-man-whos-trying-force-paul-ryan-look-real-jobRob Zerban is running for Paul Ryan's House seat; he's the Koch brothers' candidate's first real challenger.
Once again, Koch brothers cash will face off against a people-powered campaign in Wisconsin this November. The race is for a House seat in the first Congressional District, a seat now held by Paul Ryan. His challenger the first serious challenge he's faced in 14 years in Congress is Rob Zerban, a restaurateur and County Commissioner.
Zerban faces an uphill battle against Ryan, who has amassed one of the largest campaign war-chests for a House race this cycle. But Zerban thinks that Ryan's gotten an easy ride so far, with his extreme views having so far been obscured by his media-friendly public persona as a young wonk.

(57,936 posts)That I'm on his list suggests that he has a well organized campaign. He looks nice too.

I donated to him, and I am in Minnesota. Am following the Cantor/Powell, Bachmann/Graves and Ryan/Zerban races. We can do this.
Imagine a Congress without Cantor, Ryan and Bachmann.

(14,023 posts)Which, of course, should be no problem for Marathon Man ... being the government-hating Rand-clown that he is , right? Kind of crazy how he *hates* the Federal Government, yet has been a part of his most of his adult life.

(10,558 posts)Going up against Cantor will not be easy, so he does indeed need some DU loving as well.
Because of what happened in Wisconsin, because we pulled so hard for a better outcome during the recall, I dearly would like to see the citizens of that state catch a break. Defeating Lyin' Rian would put a smile on their faces and would be a step in a good direction for them-for all of us, actually. Defeating Cantor would be great too.

(131,031 posts)which is why I'm thinking of going to his First Labor Day Picnic tomorrow, in Richmond, VA, even tho I'm near DC in MD, about 120 miles away!
Have met him, seen him at 2 townhalls, and have sent $$$, so fingers crossed.

(1,362 posts)Can we get a DU drive going? I am pretty sure that most if not all DUers would like to see Ryan lose twice in November.

(63,912 posts)He really has been a small business owner, unlike Ryan who's sucked off the government all his career. Zerban talks about his experience running a business. He's for Medicare for All because it's the best thing we could do for small businesses!
MHP was great today. Ever since her righteous rant yesterday I'm tuning into to her whenever I can!
