The woman who taunted a lion at the Bronx Zoo has been identified

(CNN) — The woman who jumped into a lion's den at the Bronx Zoo has been identified, and police want your help in tracking her down.

The New York Police Department said the culprit is Myah Autry. She shared videos of herself climbing over the wooden fence Saturday, then waving and dancing once inside as the big cat gawked.

In the video, the lion appears too stunned to pounce and the woman seems unbothered even as it takes a few steps toward her.

"I want to get closer to him," the woman says in the video as she climbs over the wooden fence. "Baby! Hi, I love you!" she mumbles as she waves before later breaking into a little dance.

In addition to the lion's enclosure, Autry also illegally entered the giraffe area at the Bronx Zoo last week, police said.

But I suspect she could also use a refresher in the concepts of "wrong" and "consequences" (IMO)
(and, if there's a compatriot doing the filming, I can't tell .. they could use some "counseling" as well)

The video was posted on Instagram on Sunday, September 29, by @realsobrino. He was at the zoo with his family and had been taking photos and videos of the animals when the scene unfolded in front of him.

Hugs and understanding .. immediately AFTER she stops engaging in action that endangers herself and others. (it's noted this is not the first time she's pulled this stunt)

and result in the death of invaluable animals that would surely happen if she were to be attacked.
This is not only for HER safety but for those animals. We can not have a repeat of what happened to the gorilla a few years ago.

I just see too many people doing stupid things around wild animals. It's as if it makes them feel important. That's why I feel cleaning dog excrement might be bring her down to earth.

But if she has real mental issues then of course, I agree that treating her illness will probably stop this type of behavior.
