Quid pro quo is irrelevant

I was watching Chris Hayes and he was interviewing a dem congressperson. He commented that the quiz pro who was irrelevant. The “favor”/ask alone is sn impeachable offense.

In my view, the quid pro quo adds to the articles of impeachment.

2. Quid pro quo is basically bribery, which is one of the explicitly stated impeachment justifications.

"The President, Vice President and all civil Officers of the United States, shall be removed from Office on Impeachment for, and Conviction of, Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors."

Bribery is a lot more easily understood than either treason or high crimes and misdemeanors. Therefore by itself it makes a strong case for impeachment and removal. That is why it is important.
