So Republicans think 5 more years of this is great for them?

Do they really think that keeping Trump in power will be good for their careers?

If Trump stays, nothing they decide will make any difference because Trump is the only one who decides.
They hold empty positions whose only function is to support the dictator.
Anyone who deviates from this will be destroyed by Trump.

After Trump is deposed someday and Democrats regain power they will be in deep shit.
Everyone who latches onto Trump gets destroyed sooner or later and that will be their future.

This is what they want? Really?

Alternatively if they eliminate Trump now, the system will revert to the previous Democratic system where, even if they aren't the majority party, they can have some effect if they work honestly.

It seems a no brainer except they tenaciously hold onto Trump's power for him.
The no brainer is too difficult for their brains, I guess.

Their motivation is far more irrational and dysfunctional.

I think Karen Stenner's "The Authoritarian Dynamic" explains a lot.

I was told that right here at DU. I was told that he would hasten "the revolution."

"Conservatives" have no monopoly on stupidity. I once naively believed they did.

but they are, generally speaking, far more uninformed and “reptilian brained” than those of us on the left.

The same is true for 2020, only more so. They decided to prioritize the survival of party over the survival of America as we know it. They've got this tiger by the tail and they can't let go.
