Trump's now saying he didn't want to make the "perfect" Ukraine call until Rick Perry "urged" him to

Kyle Griffin
@kylegriffin1

Trump told House Republicans that he made his now infamous phone call to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky at the urging of Energy Secretary Rick Perry — a call Trump claimed he didn't even want to make, Axios reports.

He has been the subject of leaks for days. He was working to get his buddies on the board at an energy company. He mave asked trump yo call, or maybe not.

But trump himself made 8 "requests" for the favor of making up a charge against biden.

Not perry. Perry may have wanted him to talk about the energy company, but trump brought up biden, and had rudy and barr over there stirring the pot for months.

It would be interesting to see if this is going to speed up Perry's time table.

On edit, here's the article: Rick Perry planning to step down as energy secretary by year end

Energy Secretary Rick Perry is planning to step down from his post by the end of the year, according to four individuals briefed on his plans, making him one of about a dozen Cabinet members to leave their post during President Trump’s administration.

Perry probably will return to the private sector, one of these individuals said. All four spoke on the condition of anonymity because no formal announcement has been made.

The former Texas governor, who has touted fossil fuels but also research into alternative energy since taking office, has not enacted the same sweeping policy changes as his counterparts at the Interior Department and the Environmental Protection Agency.

Politico first reported Thursday night that Perry planned to leave by the end of November.

<snip>

In May, Perry led the American delegation to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s inauguration in the place of Vice President Pence, and congressional Democrats have begun to examine the trip in light of the ongoing impeachment inquiry focused on Ukraine. However, no evidence has emerged that Perry participated in the effort to pressure Ukranian officials to investigate Joe Biden and his son Hunter.

And he had agreed to testify. Can’t see he has any motivation to protect trump now!

Perry is an odd one. Really pushed wind energy in Texas which is surprising. But towed the republican line in all other ways.

And I think he is a rare man in one way. Remember when he was confirmed and had all these plans which he quickly found out his department did not handle. And never knew the whole nuclear thingy his department was in charge of. Haven’t heard much from him since. I think he is a rare man in that he may have actually admitted to himself he was in over his head.

If these republicans start seeing that trump will sell them down the river to protect himself some of them will turn on him.
