. . .a thing of beauty.
It was a standard stump speech, but it is the exact same strategy Barack Obama used in his last campaign of sticking to a basic set of principles; observations about the opponent; and his vision for the future. It was familiar without feeling stale. It was flawlessly directed toward the younger crowd and the President seamlessly wove his own initiatives for a second-term with his real-time critique of Romney and Bain.
In fact, Romney was the biting theme for the first half of the speech. The next was what can only be described as the thoughtful and mentoring appeal to the students and others in the crowd to continue to organize and to continue to relate the importance of this election and voting to as many folks, families, and relatives as they're able. It was our Illinois community organizer at his best; rallying our nation's youth and others for the next phase of our fight.
Barack Obama at his best. He roped Romney in and he closed the circle with ease in this inspiring and masterful speech. Like I said, standard stuff, for Obama.
