The president spent all afternoon watching television and complaining about it on Twitter

BY NATALIE DICKINSON

PUBLISHED ON OCTOBER 6, 2019

The embattled President of the United States spent his Sunday afternoon watching television and complaining about it on Twitter, trashing CBS’ “Deface” The Nation and Meet The Press for their Sunday interviews.

The ever petty and childish Donald Trump took aim at the show hosts, disparaging the “no-name” hostess and “not very bright” Chuck Todd, who he referred to as “Sleepy Eyes.” Accusing the hosts and the guests of being biased against him, the president appears to believe that all criticism can be deflected and delegitimized with schoolyard taunts.

For the record, it wasn’t Chuck Todd who had the meltdown, but Sen. Ron Johnson (R-WI) who went off the deep end, ranting about how he doesn’t trust the FBI or the CIA, spouted standard Trump lines about media bias, and promoted FOX News conspiracy theories.

The president was clearly irate he didn’t see anyone on TV defending him, but that’s because the White House chose not to send anyone to appear on the Sunday shows this weekend. While it borders on journalistic malpractice to allow Trump’s stable of shameless liars and bootlickers a platform from which to promote their false narratives in the first place, the President’s handlers chose to stay off the radar this weekend — which they’re almost certain to get an earful for on Monday morning.

Obama was for the people. He went outside and did things.

Trump stays inside and watches TV and rage tweets about it. Oh and golfs at golf courses with his name on it.
