a grumpy, cantankerous old man.

The world had passed him by, and he didn't much like it. I liked the movie. I like Clint Eastwood.

So, his art has evolved and he is playing characters that are his age. Big deal.

I have always known that his is a repubbie. I like his movies anyway.

I'm not sure what his motivation was with the RNC bit, but it was almost like guerilla theater, whether or not intentional. He certainly didn't do Mitt any favors, in my opinion.

8. Well he managed to tell Romney to go fuck himself didn't he?

And it went over the heads of everyone there because they actually thought it was Obama who was saying it.

I'd say he has us mostly guessing although some are convinced he's senile. My mother had Dementia and I can assure people that there was no way she could have gone back to being a teacher. So if he's still making movies then my thinking is he's still as smart as a whip.

11. My mom has a PhD in psychology and she's worked with both psychotic and senile people

In her professional opinion, there was nothing senile about that performance. There were a few points where he didn't seem to know what he was going to say next, but we've all been there. All the substantive things that he said were awkward with a side of awkward sauce, but awkward does not equal baseless.

According to the Alzheimer's Association, there are 10 symptoms:

Memory loss that disrupts daily life

Challenges in planning or solving problems

Difficulty completing familiar tasks at home, at work or at leisure

Confusion with time or place

Trouble understanding visual images and spatial relationships

New problems with words in speaking or writing

Misplacing things and losing the ability to retrace steps

Decreased or poor judgment

Withdrawal from work or social activities

Changes in mood and personality

The only symptom that seems to fit is poor judgement, and that's a matter of perspective.

He knew where he was, he was able to speak fluently, he didn't seem confused or lost, there wasn't any moment where he seemed to forget what he was going to say (though he did seem like he was speaking on the fly), and he seemed genial.

And he told them that they didn't have to be masochists and vote for someone that they didn't actually want in office.

12. So, Clint's delusions have nothing to do with age.

Since I'm getting older myself, I find that a relief.

He's not deluded because he's old, he's just deluded.

5. I'll admit that I liked Gran Turino.

I also liked some other movies that he was in, although I think the other actors are what made the movies good. I've never liked Clint. I think he's a terrible actor.

6. I like Eastwood, the actor. I saw Gran Torino because it was in the bargain bin...

so I got it for $4 and watched it. It was okay. Not one of his best.

I'll still go to his movies because he hasn't done anything offensive along the lines of Mel Gibson (whose movies I won't watch).

The new movie doesn't sound that interesting, though.
