without any kicking or screaming. We just stepped across and pretended that it didn't really matter. And, when apologists drew new lines, we crossed them, too, and we kept crossing lines until the whole concept of lines didn't mean diddly squat.
And, now, some of us are SO embarrassed to have been SO wrong SO many times that we have retreated into binge-watching old TV marathons and pretending that "surely everything will work out; surely someone will do something."
The fate of our nation, our kids and grandkids will be decided, in my opinion---for better or worse---in the next several months. Even if we win it is going to be painful. We can either make things happen or let things happen.
If Trump is not impeached and forced to trial in the Senate, the country most of us were lucky enough to be born in,---that defeated fascism, communism and every foreign strongman who dared oppose it ---will be dead: slain by the ignorance and apathy of its citizens.

And it hurts.
For sure it's painful. We allowed this mess to happen and now we must deal with the consequences.
If we don't, the consequences will be that our country will die, slain by the ignorance and apathy of its citizens.
In sorrow, I thank you.
