to portray him as a corrupt drunken fool. In fact he was the last hope for reconstruction in the south, the last Republican to honor the abolitionist roots of their party.

Pick a different republican. Harding for example.

You're right, though. Some in his cabinet were corrupt but there was nothing on grant himself.

Regardless, Donnie outdoes all administrations combined in terms of corruption.

Now he can add a surrenderer to his credentials.

far the best Union Generals and two of the top three in the civil war (Stonewall Jackson was the third), Grant was not as bad a President as some make him out to be. He was not part of the corruption that took place under him.
