(383 posts)The treaty allows the Russians to make the exact same kind of overflights over US bases. The US from, from what I've read, has better satellite reconnaissance and I would like to think he was advised we don't really need the treaty at this point. If this is just another move he decided to make on his own he'll need to explain.

The Russians flew over Dayton Ohio-Wright-Patterson Air Force Base.
Great Lakes Naval Base is near Chicago, both have a lot of long distance command & control capabilities
