I don’t live anywhere close to a base, but it’s not unusual to see fighters, cargo planes, squadrons of helicopters, etc. occasionally on their way to or from the coast.

Fighter Jets to Flyover Nationals Game Monday Night
Two F-16 Jets will Fly Over Nationals Park Just Before Game

Tonight, Monday, Oct 7 at 6:26 p.m., the U.S. Air Force, Air Combat Command, will control a flyover Nationals Park just prior to the baseball game. The F-16’s will be heard throughout the National Capital Region, especially in the immediate area.

The Washington Nationals are playing the fourth in the five-game National League Division Series. The Dodgers lead the series 2-1. The game is scheduled to begin at 6:40 p.m.

WMATA will stay open past normal closing time and continue running, and Nay Yard-Ballpark Station will remain open for 20 minutes after the end of the game. The station is on the green line and trains are expected to run on a regular schedule. Delays in metro service were expected on the blue, orange and silver lines throughout the day after a collision between two passenger-less cars late Sunday night.

3 armed (what we thought were) Apaches that flew low over my work building (federal building). A bunch of us had been outside the front of the building (just before lunch time and before they let us all go home) and that scared the shit out of us.... especially since they had some kind of ordinance visible on them.
