Pence going after Democrats over impeachment -- in their districts

The White House wants to make vulnerable House Democrats pay for impeachment.

Starting this week, Vice President Mike Pence will embark on a national tour of congressional districts
represented by Democrats who’ve come out in support of the inquiry. The move comes as the administration is struggling to combat an intensifying investigation into President Donald Trump’s dealings with Ukraine

Each of the districts on Pence's itinerary were won by Trump in 2016, making them potent targets for Republicans. The vice president will travel Wednesday to the southwest Iowa district of Rep. Cindy Axne, and Thursday he’s slated to visit the suburban Twin Cities district of another freshman Democrat, Minnesota Rep. Angie Craig. The vice president is then scheduled to barnstorm an array of battleground districts, including those held by Michigan Rep. Elissa Slotkin and Virginia Rep. Abigail Spanberger.

The deployment comes as the White House has been flailing for a focused response to the escalating probe into whether Trump improperly pressured Ukraine to investigate Joe and Hunter Biden. The president veered wildly over the weekend, accusing Democrats of “interfering in the 2020 Election” and calling Republican Sen. Mitt Romney a “pompous ‘ass’” who failed to understand that “my conversation with the Ukrainian President was a congenial and very appropriate one.”

So, we counter Pence's offensive by attacking the Democrats he's targeting? RandySF Oct 2019 #4
Nope, get ahead of attack by defining Trump early like Obama did with rMoney uponit7771 Oct 2019 #5
That's done locally, not nationally StarfishSaver Oct 2019 #7

Our government is for sale to anyone that rents a room at Trump hotels. He’s asking a communist dictatorship to interfere in our election at the same time he’s negotiating a trade deal with them and we can’t even come up with a competent response to the Hunter Biden thing. He’s allowing a radical Muslim theocracy to commit genicide with weapons he sold them because they rented some rooms at his hotel. And I still have to have a conversation with MAGAts about we’re soft on MS13 and we’re going to ban hamburgers. It’s fucking unreal.

OK I got a little off point. But I stand by every word! We can’t let them sell out the country to foreign governments and go on the attack over it as if *we’re* doing something wrong!

Pence is trying to attack out Congress people on supporting impeachment - probably whether they do or not. We have to make the case aggressively that Trump deserves to be impeached or it just looks like we are playing politics. No one is laying out the laundary list of impeachable offenses (not that I've seen). Go make the case. Don't pull any punches.

Members needed to get back to their districts, talk to constituents, get in the media and try to pre-empt some of this.
