Is this the straw that breaks the camels back?

Have the BBC news on in the background as I work and there was a clip of Lindsey Graham on the phone with Fox News slamming the Turkish / Kurdish debacle... and he was not complimentary about the decision coming out of the White House...

...Saying a big win for Iran & Assad, a big win for ISIS, he will do everything he can to sanction Turkey if they put one foot in North Eastern Syria...

Seems to me that for once the toady is putting his head above the Trump parapet to do what he considers the right thing... very rare conduct indeed and maybe this is the issue that makes Trumps enablers scatter?

Heh.

He's a toady through and through. When he realizes what he said, he will back step it all the way.

The comment angered me at first but I realize the way to infuriate Trump is to suggest he is like Obama in any way, shape or form.

20. I'm sure that's exactly what he intended - as an insult.

But I'm sick of their fucking insults against a President who did everything expected and more (and his family did as well) and yet has been relegated to 2nd class status while the media sits there mouth agape at the contrast of Obama to the uncivilized and uncouth entity occupying the Oval office at the moment.

There's a chink in Lindsey's armour, but it'll take a few more blows before he breaks. At the rate Comrade Dumbass is going, who knows how quickly that might be?

6. Doubt it. Congressional Republicans occasionally

make principled noise, and sometimes even mean it, as now, but it's not actual rebellion. Remember the unanimous bipartisan vote for sanctions on Russia's meddling? Then their acceptance when Trump refused to execute the law, colluding with him in the smashing of our democratic systems through rejection of congress's authority? That's the pattern.

I really hope that, as all these authoritarian straws make the very dark future they're working toward more more real to all those involved, their movement to destroy representative government will fall apart. Could happen, but I don't expect it. The Republicans accuse us of "coups" because they plot authoritarian takeover themselves.

“Maybe you do not care much about the future of the Republican Party. You should. Conservatives will always be with us. If conservatives become convinced that they can not win democratically, they will not abandon conservatism. They will reject democracy.”

― David Frum, Trumpocracy: The Corruption of the American Republic

The Republican Party has become so extreme it no longer represents any conservative values. But too many are more concerned that they can't win free and honest elections. And blame Democrats for being the problem they must overcome to save their nation.

If this overthrow is stopped, it'll be by the electorate, in best case aided by rebellion within Republicans legislative ranks that we've yet to see. Not by its leaders, certainly, who are in much too deep to turn back even if they wanted to. And there's no reason to think they do.

Ask again in 48 hours. Ask again next week. Ask again in two.

I'll get hopeful about Republicans balking at Trump when they can sustain it over time. Otherwise, speculating is just an exercise in "Today Trump truly became president"-style wishful thinking.

Is it possible his public outrage against Trump was partially motivated to show the public he is honest about Trump. Then the public can see that his criticism about the impeachment inquiry is fair and reasonable.

Guy is very very conservative, loved Trump's court picks, but voted 3rd party in 2016. He's supportive of Trump's trade war despite his free market leanings. But the Syria decision yesterday was the final straw for him, he finally realized that Trump is an impulsive maniac with no real knowledge of issues he makes decisions on.

Guy is so wrong on so many issues, but he's done with Trump.

Strangely, as of this morning, according to Richard Engel, US troops have not left. Could the Pentagon have ignored the order? This is what Mattis often did.

Until trump and Putin remind him, again, what he 's done, and what'll happen if he doesn't go along with their plan. They'll use that against all those that do what he and Putin want now.
