this is a lot less intuitive than most other websites I've been on in that regard where you can just drag and drop.

Then you do a Google search, and since I knew what I was looking for I searched "Monkey rimshot gif"

Click "images" at the top of the google page that opens.

Pick the one you want and click it. It will open in a window to the right.

Right click on it and select "View Image"

Copy the URL that appears and paste that to the message space on DU.

That's the way I do it, anyway. Many images these days have hotlink restrictions, so doing it my way makes sure you have a valid URL that ends in the extension you are looking for, be it .gif , .jpg or whatever.

Always use the "Preview" button to make sure it will show up properly.

Complicated, but takes me all of about 15 seconds usually.

It used to be that you could right click on an image and select the "Properties" or "View Image Info" links and get the URL that way, but since Google seems to have made it easier for copyrighted photos to have hotlink restrictions, I find the method I gave above gives reliable results
