(1,671 posts)When it's in the palms of the hands, it's Dupuytren disease or palmar fibromatosis.
When it's in the bottom of the feet, it's Ledderhose's disease or plantar fibromatosis.
When it's in the shoulders, it's adhesive capsulitis or frozen shoulder.
From what I've learned after being diagnosed with Dupuytren disease and having two bouts of frozen shoulder, it's basically the wound healing process gone awry.

(1,671 posts)The shoulder capsule thickens and tightens. It's very painful in the beginning as the tightening progresses (literally, can't lift your arm or sleep on the affected side without excruciating pain). Once it's "frozen," you have very limited range of motion. Then it eventually "thaws." For me, it was about an 18-month process for each shoulder. Both have returned to nearly 100% normal without any surgery nor formal physical therapy. It's one of those grin and bear it things. Many sufferers are misdiagnosed and end up with surgery or have physical therapy that can worsen it.

(32,086 posts)drugs for Crooked Penis Disease were advertised on TV. A pox on whoever legislated the ability for drug companies to advertise on TV the way they do. My condolences to the men who suffer from this, but geez.
