There's no way Erdogan is doing this without tacit permission from Trump.

Why is Turkey targeting civilians? I get that they want to kill the Kurds, but why civilians?

snip of article

Trump is technically trying to end another legacy of his predecessor Barak Obama, which balanced American support for Kurdish groups with the strategic benefits of keeping Ankara as an ally. Hence, if this US withdrawal ultimately materialises, it would constitute the accumulative product of eight years of incoherent US policy.

It remains to be seen what the US's red line for the Turkish incursion will be and whether the Kurds will feel unsafe to the degree of shifting their allegiance to Moscow. The Pentagon initiated a call with the Russian defence ministry to potentially discuss this issue, while Iran is also offering to fill the US vacuum in northeastern Syria and is warning against a Turkish incursion. Moreover, if Turkey needs the international community to fund its ambitious plan to settle Syrian refugees near the Turkish-Syrian border, it will need to have a rather inclusive approach, as unilaterally forcing a demographic shift will not necessarily secure and stabilise the Turkish-Syrian border.

Trump summarised his mindset in a tweet pointing out that "we are 7,000 miles away" and that Syria is not a US problem. Eighteen years after intervening in Afghanistan, the US is now negotiating with the Taliban, the group it deposed in 2001. Hence, it is clear why every now and then Trump looks for an exit strategy. His advisers, however, must be hoping that his focus on Syria will not last long and that it will eventually shift to another foreign policy challenge or another political crisis at home.

1st, nowhere in any of the text you posted does it say "Turkey is using American warplanes to kill American allies."

That sentence makes it sound as if either the US Air Force or the US Navy is performing the sorties.

It would be more accurate if you had said Turkey is using "American BUILT aircraft" which is true, as the vast majority of their aircraft are built in the United States.

9. Pat Robertson said trump is risking his mandate of heaven

if he does this. He called Ergodan a thug, dictator, and strongman. He essentially made all the same points about how bad abandoning our allies is, the ISIS situation, etc.

I was pretty surprised but actually grateful if Robertson can get through to any of his thick headed followers. I did see one quote somewhere where he mentioned the Christian Kurds being slaughtered. I'm hoping that specific statement will get through to the most stubborn.

Now the guy is a fundamental jerk, hypocrite, thief, huckster, the list goes on. I guess I just have my hopes up a little bit that his influence can water down some of trump's support since it seems the 700 Club fans like to be told what to think.

I swear, these faux Christians are deeply ingrained in their lives of breaking every one of the Ten Commandments and shoving their bitter fruit down our throats as national policy.

I could have worded that better but I'm highly agitated since you're probably right that they will continue to worship their new emperor god. All because this douche Ralph Reed wants to be a "somebody" and sell a few books on the side.
