The polls on impeachment give me hope.

The Democrats have just gotten started and the numbers for impeachment have gone up quickly. That is a good sign. It those numbers rise up to around 60% for impeachment, that would be really bad news for Trump and the Republicans.

And the Ukraine affair has the advantage of simplicity. An attempt by Trump to make a deal.

His base is still firm and will remain so. And that is his power.

Lots of republicans could support an impeachment and survive a general election.

But will be toast in a primary.

Republican primary voters are almost all racist or evangelical nuts. Often both.

Trump and his crazy base holds the entire GOP by the balls. And the are not letting go of their hold.

Only 2020 is removing him and it will be too close for comfort.

We just don’t work anymore. It can’t work if most people don’t obey the law. With this cabal, they basically refuse to obey the process. And there’s seemingly no recourse.

60% might be the ceiling. But even at that number a conviction is highly unlikely. Republicans know Cult 45 would be pissed.

We need audio of Trump in clear quid pro quo with Putin, begging Lord Vladimir to not release salacious video in exchange for doing anything Vlady-poo wants. But that still probably wouldn't flip 20 Republican Senators.
