Prominent Conservatives Call for Swift Impeachment

Prominent Conservatives Call for Swift Impeachment
October 10, 2019 at 7:07 am EDT By Taegan Goddard

“More than a dozen prominent conservative lawyers, including George Conway, offered their legal reasoning for an ‘expeditious’ impeachment probe into President Trump, creating a document they hope will be read by Republicans who continue to stand by the president,” the Washington Post reports.

“The 16 attorneys, many of whom worked in Republican administrations, wrote in a joint statement to be released Thursday morning that Trump’s now infamous call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, the text messages between diplomats and Trump’s public call for China to investigate a political opponent are ‘undisputed’ events that amount to Trump violating his oath of office.”

They understand that every single day he is damaging the party and conservatism more.

I have made the case that soon we will start seeing elected republicans trying to speed up impeachment while supporting it. I believe that will happen.

Our subpoenas. That will be the turning point. They will yell about Syria but it will have no impact on impeachment. The courts siding with the subpoenas will do it. Republicans will stand strong up until that point. That is when they know that it will be months worth of damning information that will include the names of even more republicans.

the sooner the Repubs get on board and this wraps up, the less chance of even more dirt being exposed, dirt which really COULD destroy the GOP.

And with proper positioning they could easily pull behind Romney whom I would guess would be the frontrunner at this point.

If this goes on into the Primary season then they will really have a big 2020 problem. He's going to be impeached and considered toxic at some point. Regardless of what the senate does, nobody would run someone for president that has been impeached by the house.

Know...lots of conservative bankers who are socially liberal. If Romney were to run they would all vote for him. Plus he's got that same attribute Biden does.. ANTITHESIS of trump...as far as morals and dignity. If trump ends up running again we have a far better chance of picking these people up.

I'm suspicious of this "quick" impeachment because I feel they (the repukes) want the houseplant pence in instead. and pence is into this shit almost as deep and benedict donald.

the fast impeachment, I feel, allow the repukes the opportunity of declaring, "the long national nightmare is over and lets put it behind us". and allow pence, barr, pompeo and the other room full of dopes to get off scott free.

That way he can run around proclaiming his *innocence*, no collusion, yadda yadda from that point up until election*. That way the rest of the quisling party can go on about the business of ripping off the treasury and the taxpayers and easily get themselves reelected. They need to remove the taint of tRump's obvious criminal sprees. A live Potemkin village.

After which, they'll declare themselves saviors of the republic.

Their base will breathe a sigh of relief that "Leeroy Jenkins" is gone, normalized and then rebranded/forgotten.

They'll continue their foreign and domestic relationships in the name of greed without the constant megaphone drawing attention to their ongoing attempts to take into our own dark ages; or maybe just as far back as Dickensian times. "Are there no workhouses..." "...useless eaters..."

edit for grammar(?)
