https://www.rawstory.com/2019/10/gops-pete-sessions-implicated-by-indictment-of-rudy-giulianis-foreign-henchmen/?utm_source=push_notificationsThe two Soviet-born men who have been helping President Donald Trumps attorney Rudy Giuliani find dirt on former Vice President Joe Biden and his family were indicted and arrested early this morning while at Dulles Airport just west of Washington, D.C.
According to the 22-page indictment, a member of Congress referred to only as congressman-1 was being lobbied by Lev Parnas and Igor Fruman and given hefty donations from the men.

(38,001 posts)The more than $3 million that the group, America First Action, spent supporting former Rep. Pete Sessions (R-TX) included huge ad buys that appear to have pushed the boundaries of laws restricting super PAC coordination with political campaigns, according to a Daily Beast review of federal campaign finance and television broadcasting records. And they could severely complicate the former congressmans attempt to win back office in 2020.
The expenditures made by America First Action came during the 2018 election cycle, during which Sessions was fighting desperately to hold on to his House seat in a race he would go on to lose to Democrat Colin Allred. The PAC, which has President Donald Trumps official imprimatur, has raised millions of dollars to fulfill that task. And during that election season, $325,000 of that came from a company called Global Energy Producers LLC, a firm run by Lev Parnas and Igor Fruman.
The Soviet-born businessmen were, at the time of their donation to the PAC, helping Giuliani solicit dirt on President Donald Trumps political opponents from officials in Ukraine. That work, which is now at the center of an impeachment inquiry against the president, included trying to get the U.S. ambassador to Ukraine, Marie Yovanovitch, removed from her post on grounds that she was badmouthing Trump...

(16,616 posts)He chaired the House Committee on Rules after David Dreier stepped down. He used to be real mean and nasty and then suddenly around 2013-2015 he became Mr. Nice Guy. He never ever voted with the Democrats on a single issue that I can remember, but you thought he might after his change because he was obsequious to everybody. I always wondered about his "shift" from snarling A-Hole to Mr. Congeniality.

(14,757 posts)Trumps reign. It will take barr time, but he will entangle everyone trump has a beef with, or who he wants to keep in line. And that is a very long list of politicians, the press, and people in business.
Indictments will rain down before long. What does he have to lose at this point?

(1,521 posts)Pete Sessions is considered to be extraordinarily stupid and arrogant by most North Texas Republicans.
The rest of us just hate him for who and what he is.
He knows he cant win in his former district, so he is trying to run in the kind of rural type district that had gifted us with Texas luminaries such as Joe Barton and Louie Gohmert.
Being named in an indictment will probably help him in this state, but I cant help but be 😁

(1,521 posts)Romney, Flake, Collins are as close as they come these days, but they consistently lack the courage of their expressed convictions. Even McCain failed to live up to his own hypealthough Ill always remember the strength of his spine when he knew death was coming.
Before today there was John Danforth of Missouri, who like Collins today, always said the right sounding things, and then would fold like a garage sale card table.
I wonder if Lincoln was the only and last Republican patriot.

Thank you FBI & SDNY!! Collins especially always lacks conviction!! She always talks about how concerned she is but in the end, she always does what the party wants her to do!
There was an interesting article I saw yesterday that said the 4 Senators to watch during impeachment are McSally AZ, Gardner CO, Collins ME & Tillis NC.
