Finally it seems we are awakening to the Russian infiltration into our country. I am nervous for the times ahead. This illegitimate mother fucker is a Russian asset.
I've been trying to keep busy. Self care is important.

(9,090 posts)have to do with talk radio and need to keep in mind that the kremlin may have been using talk radio for years
corsi, credico, stone, manafort were all talk radio operatives - not social media pros.
manafort was campaign cochair for mccain. did he get mccain to pick palin, who was being wooed by russian oil and gas, by getting limbaugh to withold support until palin was the choice? minutes after mccain announced palin, limbaugh announced his support , just in time to save the GOP convention
why was the name 'hannity' redacted from the mueller report glossary? a completely redacted name and description is there between graf and hawker but he was mentioned enough times incidentally to warrant being listed.
2009 'climategate' hoax started from a russian hack, went to wikileaks, and then within 5 days was being blasted out by limbaugh for a full week, in time to derail obama at copenhagen and saving putin many billions in fossil revenue
why would trump pay hack lawyer sam nunberg to listen "to 1000s of hrs of talk radio" in 2014, the same year a russian troll said he "got a list of topics to write about"?
why would american billionaires want limbaugh to spend 2 months pushing for debt default in 2011?
was the tea party a russian construction?
and so on

(9,090 posts)including spreading a story suggesting obama and clinton ordered embassy guards around the world not to carry live ammo. the talk radio gods spread that probably being too stupid to realize they were encouraging terrorist attacks on US embassies. who would start that kind of disinformation? marines spokesman had to come out and call it bullshit but i heard an local radio bozo repeat it again after that, tto stupid to realize. not sure if limnbaugh repeated that but hannity did. that's the kind of thing the kremlin might want to stir up, and could, with calls to national shows, social media, etc.
in oct 2014 mueller report guy jerome corsi wrote daily columns for rw rag world net daily yelling about obama bringing ebola into the country and talk radio was big in spreading that ebola scare - and it helped republicans in the elections. this year sociall media has been blamed for inciting local congolese to attack ebola clinics and allow it to spread. at the same time, limbaugh and sons were talking about congolese immigrants joining the cravans 'invading' the southern border. that's the kind of crap they can ramp up for the 2020 election to give trump an excuse to 'postpone' the election.
a lot of the russian trolling campaigns are going to piggyback old talk radio repetition - they'd be stupid not to - so the social media companies might want to start studying talk radio and save some money

(5,811 posts)Here's the difference. Russian assets have a transactional relationship with their handlers. You give me something. You get something.
Trump has sworn allegiance (has Russian citizenship) to Russian which makes him an agent. His loyalty goes beyond a transaction. I believe this is why he doesn't want his financial docs released to Congress and state investigative agencies. This also explains his birtherism.

(838 posts)Trump has dual citizenship? Nah, put up or sit down.
Farmer-Rick
(10,175 posts)He maybe more than a Russian asset, but there is no indication he has citizenship in Russia. Trump has no proven businesses in Russia but Russia has business in Trump.
Putin is the richest man in the world. Trump wants to be the richest man in the world. Trump kisses Putin's ass because he admires the dick, mass murderer and mobster. Trump wants to control the US like Putin controls Russia.
This is the end game of capitalism. Regional monopolies expand to control government, financing, the justice system. Making the corporation the de facto ruler. The corporation's owner eventually comes out. Putin is the owner of Russia Inc. Trump wants to be the owner of US Inc.

(100,076 posts)What we saw in 2016 was an ultra far right coup and it wasn't just a few people who were involved, it was hundreds, maybe thousands working to throw the election to Trump. It's going to take decades to unravel this mess and find out all of the major players who were involved, and we may never find out the whole truth.

(34,393 posts)compelled to find some good or else I'd be lost in despair. I really, really, really hope this nightmare will soon end, but I fear we're at the stage that Churchill was after the Second Battle of El-Alamein, "Now this is not the end. It is not even the beginning of the end. But it is, perhaps, the end of the beginning."

(4,544 posts)Despair is always close by, looking for a way in. I refuse to let myself go there. Like you, I would be lost. Your animal videos definitely help. They remind us that there's still so much good in the world, and help us to smile and sometimes laugh. Thank you for that.
emmaverybo
(8,144 posts)often despair at the daily nightmare animals live. I wish when people post stories about cruelty whether at the hands of humans or nature in the wild, they might suggest Triggering. Such stories can be triggering for animal lovers. I used to force myself to witness, but no longer can.
Your stories that occasion joy, show us how human compassion for an animal made a difference, attest to animal empathy and intelligence, these provide needed counter to the awareness that
we are often powerless to help our human and animal fellows in their moment of need.
catbyte
(34,393 posts)post begins with cruelty or neglect, they are always triumphant in the end. I get triggered by animal cruelty, too. And if and when I post a sad video, I always post a "Kleenex Alert." I can't even watch movies where an animal gets hurt or worse. I just can't do it. I'm completely turned off no matter how good the movie is supposed to be. I might have a personality defect or maybe it's because I'm an only child and my cat was my best friend when I was a kid, but I've always related to animals more than people. Nah, it's not because I was an only child. I grew up in a neighborhood full of kids and I was always so happy and relieved to go home to my own room at night, so it's probably the personality thing.
emmaverybo
(8,144 posts)and you show that. Only child here too. Maybe my emotional state though and prior intense exposure when I was getting educated about animal welfare, activism...some have the ability to deal with it all graphically in order to try to stop it. But I cant go there anymore and sleep.
I do wish movies would announce when they include crueltyI depend on reviewers, usually
users of streaming.
Yes, you show triumph. The courage and love animals and humans demonstrate in relating to each other so inspires me and that the very worst cases can survive to be rescued and rehomed as your
recent post demonstrated.
Your hard work is appreciated. See you next story.

I have a deep deep love for felines. They have saved my life multiple times.
