(5,940 posts)Those who serve in the military have sworn an oath to, among other things, obey the president. They are honor-bound to fulfill that oath. Mutiny is not something they would consider lightly, if ever at all.
I doubt that any in the military would (or should) take it upon themselves to decide whether the president is treasonous and should not be obeyed. Instead, we have a duty to them to remove a criminal president through legal means. That is happening, but it can't possibly happen fast enough to save the Kurds from genocide.

(31,261 posts)Turkey is bombing, but on the ground are lots of jihadist militias allied with Turkey. And a lot of ISIS people have escaped on the chaos. It is clear that if the jihadists or ISIS escapees get their hands on our troops, things will not go well for those troops.
