Major Controversy in Jamaica over Kanye West showing up

for some religious performance at very short notice. The first performance is at Emancipation Park tonight.
Locals are pissed over the granting of the license at very short notice and the fact that the government has bent over backwards to allow this is the middle of the island's Heroes Day holiday weekend.
The chaos in New Kingston is another matter completely.

gospel music . He has been doing it for about a year and has delayed his album release 3 times I think
He has banned news media from any of the services so it is not that well followed or mentioned often in the news until now when he is releasing Jesus is king film so he’s promoting it all

American rapper, Kanye West, and his Sunday Service group will stage a free concert at Emancipation Park this Friday.

West, who gave his life to Christ in April, will be accompanied by the 120-Voice Choir Sunday Service and a 15-member band.

The concert, a gift to Jamaicans, starts at 7:00 p.m.

This is Sunday Service’s first appearance in the Caribbean, since it did its first concert in January and, according to production manager, Jonathan Coleman, Africa, Europe and Asia are next.

Coleman said one of West’s employees is Jamaican, and it was her idea to bring the gospel group to the island.
