Trump is reaching into the Treasury and taking your money for himself.

I hope this is clear enough. If it's not, I'll keep trying.

The government awarding the G7 contract to Trump is not more of the same corruption. It's not even the same but grander. It is different in nature. Trump is reaching into the Treasury and taking your money for himself.

I would say it's like his administration writing checks to himself, but it's not like that. It is that

I think it was with Ari Melber, not sure.

She explained how this works out to be a big con. First of all, Trump would be taking in money at the resort at a time of year when no one goes to Florida.

She explained that Doral has only 2 presidential suites, meaning that at least 5 other suites would need to be built/renovated to accommodate all the heads of state. She also said they would need to build 2 helipads for helicopters that would then need to be removed and the golf course area restored. She also said that Doral is a bit shabby/tired and would need to have work done to bring it up to standard. Another thing she explained was that there would be many months prior to the G7 meeting that requires advance teams from the other countries to make the preparations and they would be staying at the hotel.

It was clear that Trump was not only getting the money from the room charges and all the rentals, but he was going to get the place fixed up for free.

It is a monumental grift.

Or another that mentioned what a HUGE theft of taxpayer money this would be - not only for the expenses of the event but for the massive renovations required to hold it there. ALL on our taxpayer money which is in this case being LITERALLY taken from our federal account into HIS pockets/personal business.

Why are we tax payers paying to renovate his property? Is that part of the contract deal? Most government contracts just rent rooms they don't fix up the crappy rooms. Since when do government contracts with hotels include renovations? I think I'm missing something here.

I've worked with UN visitors and Military VIPs. Appropriated funds are just used to pay for rooms. We don't usually arrange to upgrade sad neglected places.

Probably gonna stay that way. The trump brand will probably be near worthless by the time this ends. And for his followers who’d surely want to prop him up, I doubt they could afford it.

But spent 1 million on his cushy pad.

Trump made a thing about not accepting pay, but has leached the US Treasury for billions to fund his life style and constant rallies.

It would be cheaper to pay him the $400,000 a year.

that Doral was getting kind of shabby .... and I thought, wtf, why are we going to embarrass ourselves hosting heads of state in this shit hole?

But now I see it .... DT gets to grift Treasury money to refurbish and expand his property. How blatant can this be? This should be shouted from the rooftops by journalists every single day from this day forward. Present data as to what they're going to spend and on what. Keep hammering away. This is totally unacceptable!!!!!!

There’s evidently a resolution taking shape in the House Rules Committee about this.

I sure as hell don’t want my tax dollars going to pay to spruce up his fucking resort!

This afternoon writing up the next Call to Action email that our Indivisible group is putting out for the coming week. I’m gonna make that an ask.

NO Doral! Have that G7 meeting SOMEWHERE ELSE! Do NOT let him mooch off us taxpayers!!!

needed to be cut. Brought to us by the scumbag Republicans. Congress has to have a way of sticking a provision in a necessary funding bill making defunding any attempt at having the G7 at a Trump property. Even Republicans would have to vote for it.

Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster, NJ? Of course we have. He invites foreign dignitaries to these properties and he stays at them for extended periods. They all need/needed upgraded communications, security, roadways, helipads, etc. As well as cosmetic improvements. And you can bet his residence at Trump Towers was fully upgraded when the missus and child were still living there. We have been royally scammed and robbed for almost 3 years. He'll brag that he isn't taking a salary, but what we have paid and will continue to pay for improvement and upkeep of his properties for the next year will far outweigh any salary he waived; $400,000 annually.

It's an obvious violation of the emoluments clause of the Constitution and the other members should respect our laws that even if the GOP doesn't. I'd like to see the question posed to the other country's leaders as to why they would enable what is a crime in the USA.

The other members are France, Canada, Germany, Italy, UK & Japan. Japan and Italy have somewhat kowtowed to the Rump but most have no great love for him.
