BALTIMORE — The body of the late U.S. Rep. Elijah Cummings will lie in state in the National Statuary Hall of the U.S. Capitol next week.
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's office said in a news release that a formal ceremony open to members of Congress, the Cummings family and invited guests will be held Thursday morning, followed by a public viewing.
A wake and funeral for Cummings is planned the following day at New Psalmist Baptist Church in Baltimore, where he worshipped for nearly four decades.

Elijah was a Hebrew prophet and miracle worker, as told in the two Books of Kings in the Old Testament. He was active in the 9th century BC during the reign of King Ahab of Israel and his Phoenician-born queen Jezebel. Elijah confronted the king and queen over their idolatry of the Canaanite god Ba'al and other wicked deeds. At the end of his life he was carried to heaven in a chariot of fire, and was succeeded by Elisha. In the New Testament, Elijah and Moses appear next to Jesus when he is transfigured.

And I have thought of the times during Passover when someone is sent from the table to open the door for Elijah.
What a loss the nation has suffered -- how fortunate we were to have him for as long as we did. Rest in peace, brave soul.
My heart is so heavy, she. We have lost a truly good, truly great, man.

Love your family and spend time with them. Get s hobby you enjoy. Spend time with your friends... anything but being mean on the internet. It's so childish and lame.
