Republicans have read the Communist Manifesto and declared "We want to be MORE like the bourgeois!"

Between their "Even though there are five applicants to every job, there are still jobs out there!" and "The Middle Class should pay more in taxes!", I think that's the explanation for their behavior right there.

they want to make sure that the nobility is acceptably white, not just any white, but the English, Germanic, Nordic type of white they prefer. That's why they are so racist. When they get to the place in society and wealth where they can join the exclusive country club of their dreams, the only people of color they want in them are the servants.
