(82,849 posts)Next time you go to Washington to testify, DO YOUR HOMEWORK. Reps. Beatty, Porter, and Ocasio-Cortez all did theirs and dunked on your sorry ass repeatedly.

(35,688 posts)so I didn't watch the clip, but was she the one that asked, "Why would we want to do this?"
Oh how I laughed. And laughed and laughed and laughed. Like hey dumbass, did you think we all just fell of the turnip truck?

(82,849 posts)Zuckerberg knows this, and rather than give Rep. Beatty an answer, he launches into some dodge knowing ("Well, we've been looking into--" ) that 300 seconds isn't all that long.

(12,213 posts)You sound like you believe she should have had more respect for him: he's a cheat, a traitor, and he's out for himself and all the billionaires.
Don't have ANY sympathy for them.
They are terrible people, unlike you.

(81,866 posts)She might have gotten real answers by asking fewer questions.

Flat affect, nazi grooming style, and you just know he hasn't taken a shit without laxatives his whole life.
He's a nasty piece of work.

(6,110 posts)These very large corporations are getting on my nerves.
They are essentially monopolies, since Facebook has no similar competition, Twitter has completely different formats.
Which is why we need Senator Warren in White House to break up these out-sized corporations. No other candidate has the know-how, energy and persistence that Warren has.

(314 posts)I do wish they would let the witnesses answer a bit more and not cut them off so often. They seem to want an immediate yes or no without allowing anytime at all. However, it does seem to me that when Zuckerberg begins with "Congresswoman," or "Congressman," he is going to hem and haw.

(64 posts)I like being on Facebook. I admit it. Im on every day and probably make 7-8 posts. I would love to just get off and never get back on. But it aint gonna happen.
But I know if there was an organized FB holiday, say one day every week I could do it. Im suggesting every Monday (or another day) each week be a holiday where nobody signs on. Just losing one day each week of substantial advertising revenue would seriously hurt the bottom line.
I wish a few organizations could get behind this and bring FB to their knees.
In fact I could probably break my FB addiction and do a 2nd day.

(23,957 posts)note to self: if ever testifying before a congressional committee, do the goddam homework! Rep. Beatty completely fried Zuckerberg like he was a big ol' human-size shrimp standing there waving his antennae in confusion, and it wasn't like a slow burn into a logical contradiction or anything, just straight up "did you review the packet that went out in notification to you and your team? about what was included today? and diverse asset management was in it. did you read that?" hoooly shit straight downhill from there. a complete thrashing. brutal. epically brutal. severe trauma. serious hulk-on-loki abuse throughout.
"do you know who the firm that you employ for civil rights is?"
complete destruction follows.
