Two possible reasons Barr has opened a criminal investigation on the Russian scandal?

He may see the writing on the wall?

He may have been told by Donald Trump to do it to slow down the impeachment process? This is a possible scenario since he seems to have a lip-lock on Trump's ass.

Or he may see the direction it is going and he has reason to believe that indeed, Russia was involved? With the recent revelations about Giuliani and his "associates" and other testimony from reliable witnesses, he may have concluded that he has no choice but to attempt to be on the right side of history? After all, how would it look if the truth comes out and he is standing there with his hands covering his eyes?

Whether he has chosen to continue to cover for Donald Trump or to pursue a more independent investigation is still to be seen?

1. I don't think he has any good motives, only self serving ones.

I am sure that trump told him to slow down the impeachment process but there is more to this monster than meets the eye. Just like with the Mueller investigation, Barr pretends to be a "real Attorney General" but he is up to no good - whatever the hell that is...

I have no doubt he’s doing this to benefit Trump, but his objective is not clear to me. Diversion or an attempt to punish Trump “enemies”. The latter infuriates and alarms me.

Gut feeling is a connection with Barr's father. The headmaster censured for 'authoritarianism'.

Barr's father employed a 21 yo, inexperienced Jeffrey Epstain as a lecturer at Dalton College.

You can draw a line thru Barr's father, Epstein and Trump.

of history, has to be the most positive outlooks I have seen so far. I would bet everything I have, that his reasons are far more nefarious than that.

Or release the entire Mueller Report.

The people have a right to see what Mueller has reported concerning the Russian investigation.

All the intelligence agencies found Russia messed with the 2016 election
Several other intelligence agencies from allies concluded something was up
FISA warrants were granted by judges based on Russia messing around
Several court cases either indicted, got confessions/flipped witnesses or got convictions related to this
Mueller's investigation concluded as much
The Senate investigation just ended with similar conclusions
Over 270 contacts were documented between Russia and the Trump campaign

Oct 2016: Yes, 17 intelligence agencies really did say Russia was behind hacking
https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/onpolitics/2016/10/21/17-intelligence-agencies-russia-behind-hacking/92514592/

etc

Whether they were able to find enough evidence over all the obstruction that Trump colluded with Russia is not greatly material when assessing whether they were justified to look into it. The evidence is overwhelming that they were justified.

The recently released Senate report
https://www.intelligence.senate.gov/sites/default/files/documents/Report_Volume2.pdf
warns that it could happen again in 2020

All Barr can be looking for is some technicality to try to muddy the waters for Trump.

& fascism's consigliere. Since drumpf is the current fascist oligarch is charge, that means his mouth is firmly planted on Cheetolini's butt crack. Is he a big enough asshole to try to shift the blame for russia hacking to obama, really? This is just so sickening and wrong

Arrest anyone that was involved in the Russia investigation. Then Obama, Hillary, Brennan, Pelosi, Nadler, and Schiff, on Trumped Up charges. Then throw all progressive media in prison, and finally, come for all Dems.

Think this can't happen? Did you think it would get as far as it has? tRump is Putin's instrument of destruction. He's just waiting for maximum damage and chaos, and then he'll step in.

I can see these guys storming into Congress..... with pizza.
