Pardon my innocence, but why is there a "negotiation"? Subpoenas don't work anymore? nt albacore Oct 2019 #6

Bolton is writing a book and this incident would make a perfect additional chapter, so I expect he'd want to get this out of the way sooner rather than later so he can finish the book and go on a book tour!

No matter what we think of him, the repubs love him. He's got his own PAC in order to elect repubs. He's repub through and through.

This repub could be testifying publicly of just how bad tRump is. This repub is potentially a game changer and his possible public testimony or closed door deposition could be the final nail in tRump's coffin. Repubs in the senate will have no choice if Bolton gives the kind of testimony that reports are alluding to. tRump could get removed.

I don't know about anyone else, but I'll gladly shake hands with the devil if that's what happens.

that relishes revenge. That not only is he willing to wait until the time is right, he will love serving it cold. Cold and lethally effective. The final nail in the coffin. While thinking to himself with a barely suppressed smirk of satisfaction under that moustache: “You f***ed with the wrong guy, clown.”

they would still have to go through a process to schedule when he will testify - especially since they have others ahead of him that they have already lined up. Apparently Bolton's lawyers did the reaching out expecting to get a subpoena.
