Someone in his close group of mobsters cooked up this idea where he can profit and claim to be complying with emoluments rules at the same time.

Not sure but, I think he only owns the name. Will have to look up the particulars.

(131,018 posts)WE the PEOPLE own the Old Post Office.
'In 2013, the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) leased the property for 60 years to a consortium headed by "DJT Holdings LLC", a holding company that U.S. President Donald Trump owns through a revocable trust.[2] Trump developed the property into a luxury hotel, the Trump International Hotel Washington, D.C., which opened in September 2016.'

MurrayDelph
(5,299 posts)He knows he's going to get kicked out of office, and his Casa de Emoluments is going to have a severe decrease in cash flow once foreign governments aren't using the place to launder bribes.
So he's trying to unload it while it's still an asset.

(1,165 posts)After all, Trump can donate an unlimited amount of money to his own campaign. If a billion dollars just happened to fall into his lap from Saudi Arabia or some friendly Russians, what's to stop him funding an election?
I think he is broke, but with all the money laundering and campaign double dealing, don't rule this angle out.

(1,702 posts)bankruptcy with their Devil building at 666 Park Av. How did they avoid bankruptcy? Simple, give the Saudis (MBS) intel, names and point out what the CIA knew about Saudi nationals. Suddenly these folks got locked up, murdered, disappeared and got chopped up.
Then just as suddenly "some in the Middle East" leased the devil building saving the Kushners. And to this day, the building sits empty and unimproved. #TrumpCrimeSyndicate

(3,697 posts)Trump knows his days as POTUS are numbered. Even if he escapes being impeached and removed from office he has little chance of being re-elected. Once he leaves office he'll have no leverage to encourage a buyer to overpay for the property. It's be interested to see who buys it if he places the hotel up for sale.

(15,286 posts)It was reported during the flap over the G7 being at Doral, that Doral is Trump's biggest money-maker and it has been losing business since Trump was elected. If this is Doral, what must Trump's other properties' bottom lines look like?

(22,154 posts)the Saudi, etc. have been booking rooms right and left, while not staying (booking rooms to simply pay off rump), there must be a desperate touch in the air around rump and family to raise cash...

There will probably be 2-3 spin-off T.V. shows about their love/business/affairs.
