Although I can't afford to go to the WS games. I had two friends at Sunday night's game, and I'm sure that they were booing loudly. What people don't understand is that "Washington DC" is not just the District. It's DC plus the northern suburbs of Virginia and two counties in Maryland - Prince Georges and Montgomery. We call it the DMV. A LOT of Federal employees live in these areas. A lot more people are dependent on Federal money - contractors, etc. We are also a major technology and biotech hub. We have a lot of educated people here. People whose parents came here during WWII, or the Kennedy administration, or the Reagan defense buildup who stayed and raised families. (Like me and my husband.) They made up the fans at the stadium.

If you call people "scum", "swamp things", the "Deep State", and not "real Americans", you can expect us to fight back. If you threaten to take away our pensions, we will fight back. If you force us to pack up our lives on a month's notice and move to a different city or lose our jobs, we will fight back. If you treat us like shit, we will fight back. The sustained booing was the DMV fighting back.
