I have been a white guy for almost 59 years and still don't hate the intolerant.

They took the brunt of the wage suppression, meaning their wages fell so far and so fast in purchasing power that their wives had to stick the kiddies in some kind of day care and go to work just to pay a mortgage.

They saw their pensions looted and simply evaporate when they got turned into inadequate 401K plans and none of those plans has recovered fully from the crash in 2008, although the stock market as a whole has.

With the loss of an exalted position of sole breadwinner, they saw their entitlement eroded as they were expected by overworked wives to get out of the recliner and do some damn work around the house.

They also lost race privilege as men of color and even a few women joined them at work that had been solely the province of white males.

And slowly, over time, they saw themselves pushed out of the middle class and into the working class and once they were past the corporate expiration date of 55, into the underclass of uninsured people with no benefits working a patchwork of dead end minimum wage jobs just to stay afloat until they reached social security age.

Most of them know they've been screwed without getting kissed and the ones who are smart enough to connect the dots and figure out who did the screwing are here at DU. The rest have gotten sucked into Pox News and Limbaugh telling them that all the wrong people are responsible for their huge fall.

I don't hate white males, most of them are really hurting these days. I hate the men who lie to them and tell them the problem is liberal government. The problem is government, but it's the CONSERVATIVE government that has done all this to them. I just wish I knew what it would take to wake more of them up.

Which is a damn good reason for self-professed "progressives" to stop carrying water for them, advancing their agendas, and promoting their groups.
