Albright on Morning Joe

Andrea Mitchell: Do you agree with Romney that the No.#1 threat to the US is Russia?
Madeline: If you lived in the 20th century, maybe. But this is the 21st Century.

Oh snap! Mittens kicked in the nuts by a 75 year old lady, with spike heels.

It was obvious that Andrea was completely taken back regarding how much Madeline kept current with what was going on and wasn't going to get a rise out of her (and Mitchell is supposedly the foreign affairs correspondent).

Chris Matthews got her befuddled yesterday and she babbled. When folks veer off script she doesn't know how to pivot sharply and come back with something terse.

She also should have known not to serve up that stupid Romney remark to someone of Albright's stature...

7. Madeline Albright winked at me once...

Mrs. Jeff in Milwaukee and I were visiting DC in the late 1990's, when three black Suburbans rolled up to the curb right in front of us. A security detail emerged from front and rear vehicles, and from the middle one, out popped the Secretary of State. She gave me a wink as she swept past. My wife SWEARS the SoS was winking at her, but I know better.

Thus ends my brush with greatness.
