The Trump administration is moving forward with a proposed regulation that will allow taxpayer-funded adoption agencies to refuse placement into LGBT families over religious objections.
The Department of Health & Human Services went public on Friday with the regulation, which will undo an Obama-era policy prohibiting discrimination discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation among federal grantees.
The proposed regulation, which will have far-reaching implications, was immediately was criticized by LGBT rights supporters.
Julie Kruse, director of federal policy at Family Equality Council, said in a statement the policy was outrageous, especially at the start of National Adoption Month.

I mean since they're the silent majority, they should be able to just adopt all the children out there and then children would never have to experience the unbridled horror of being adopted by a loving gay or lesbian couple.
Then again, it must be a difference in ideology and philosophy... I, you as well I am sure, consider children aging out of foster care and being thrown out into the world at 18 to be a policy failure.
They consider the existence of families with GLBT individuals in them to be the failure instead.

(82,849 posts)But you don't get the benefit of tax disbursements because some uptight assholes don't like you. Your taxes can fund an adoption agency, but it won't serve you or your kind. Ain't that America somethin' to see?

I got a nice tax cut and I am going to start sheltering more income to drive the tax bill even lower. Id drive it to zero if I could. If the government wants my money, it will have to pay me interest to get it. I am more than willing to turn this into economic warfare.

(14,854 posts)... which often means they're authoritarians, trying to FORCE their beliefs on others. It's a type of Christianity that's more judgemental of others than themselves, which would put more emphasis on passages such as "And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?"
White evangelical Christians voted for, and still strongly support, Donald Trump. Same for the right-wing authoritarians in this country, our version of the Nazis, because there's a lot of crossover between evangelicals and right-wing authoritarians. They see Trump as a "strong leader" who will never compromise with their more tolerant and "Godless" enemies, the liberals.
They won't recognize themselves as bad people because they're just trying to save others from "eternal damnation" in their fucked up minds.

A heaven full of people like Jerry Falwell, Pat Robertson, Jim Bakker? No thanks, Id rather go to hell.
They are now legends in their own minds, for their fake Jesus.
