So it's not like he went from doing that movie, to getting that gig. He has been working in the White House for almost 4 years.

(on edit: no he wasn't....)

I just have to go back and find out about the early years lol.
Reading the wikipedia article now.

(on edit again: mmm....I still don't get it after the Wiki article and another. Sounds like he just....went on the trail, did well with outreach and got that first Asst. Director post. He obviously superwowed them, whatever he was doing--I don't have to get it. I'll keep reading though.)
