We're going to be living with extreme right-wing, incompetent assholes for years. This is nothing to fucking celebrate.
But oh! "After last night's election disaster, Dump can point to one of his successes." 157 rabid assholes.
Fuck you, M$NBC!

(31,828 posts)McCconnell has done the GOP's bidding, and Trump has selected the Judges. This is why even when this Admin ends - we will be living with Trumpism for a long long time.
My core concern next year - SCOTUS. I'm 46 and I expect for the rest of my life, however long that may be - I'm voting Appointments.

(70,246 posts)I force myself to listen. msnbc also mentions the lower appellate courts that are being filled with conservative judges. I have been emailing my Senators-both a Dem and a Repug. They need to know my feelings. I advice all to do so.

(94,607 posts)It's factual that Trump has shifted the Court, and that's something his base voters support.

(90,719 posts)During the 2000 campaign voting for Nader was all the rage because people were "gonna send a message," and nobody could talk them out of it. I've been here at DU since 2002 and by gods there are STILL people who can't get it through their heads that they may not like the eventual nominee, but FEDERAL COURTS INCLUDING SCOTUS ARE FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE.
Mitch McConnell, majority leader in the Senate, lives for this.
MSNBC is reporting important news. Don't shoot the messenger.

(3,115 posts)I expect M$NBC to give us a consistent warning sign about our country as they do every night with Rachel and Lawrence, not just give us sparkly newsreaders during the day.

(90,719 posts)They all have good panels and interviews, and I have consistently recommended them because of that. That's 3 hours a day (or 2 if I skip Katie), and that's more than enough. I very seldom bother with the rest, so they don't bother me and I don't complain that MSNBC isn't Liberal News Network. I go local for things like regional fires.

(55,445 posts)Trump's stacking of the judiciary with young nuts and zealots obsessed with shaping policy from the bench *HAS* been an unqualified success in execution for him, at least, along with the concentration camps/family breakups for Latinos, that stupid tax cut for his country club billionaire buddies, and systematically reversing/deregulating everything Obama/Clinton ever signed into law... Of course everything else he's tried to accomplish has been a biblical fuckup.

It encourages me to work harder to regain power for the Democratic Party.
