I have a question.
WHEN he enters the white collar prison system, will we still have to pay for his Secret Service protection so he isn't Epsteined?
I realize this is wishful thinking, but it's been SO long and he continues to pull more and more impeachable offenses, like obstruction.
Just sayin'.

(102,304 posts)Let's not get ahead of ourselves.
But the question about SS protection has been asked a lot. Apparently they likely can negotiate out a protective detail with US Marshall's service and Bureau of Prisons.

I don't know if it's a law or just a Senate rule.
Regardless, it is not guaranteed that if it is a law/rule, that the Senate GOP will vote to convict or remove.

(16,254 posts)that I (we) need a light at the end of the tunnel. I believe that when all is said and almost done, the Repukes will finally realize the country is worth more than their party and vote for what is right. I believe the Supreme Court will either reject to view the many cases Trump has sent their way or will rule in the country's favor.
When this happens and the Repukes see that Trump is on his way down (along with several of his cohorts), the tide will change and we will finally be rid of the cancer on our country.
I (we) must have something to keep us putting one foot in front of the other. Getting rid of Trump is at the top of my list.

(10,721 posts)More than likely, we're simply going to have to overcome all of the lies, foreign interference and voter suppression next November.
Hopefully impeachment damages him severely, because there will be election fraud. We have to turn out the base like never before to overcome shenanigans.

(30,674 posts)S ure, reality and Atticus and every fact on earth demonstrated that the defendant could not in fact have done the crime. But the racist, nose picking, moronic assholes on the jury ignored the facts and voted for Dixie.
That is what I expect. More proof of what a lost and self-forsaken problem we are as a country. I wish I didn't.

(2,356 posts).... would no longer apply. He's not pResident, he can be indicted; of course, as part of his resignation deal he could try to negotiate a non-prosecution agreement for federal crimes (but would still have NY state?).
Would appreciate expert opinions from legal beagles here on DU as to what all THAT scenario
might have to look like.
Anyone???
(Thanks in advance)
