if we can get the house back, and hold the senate this cycle as well as re-elect the POTUS.. the demographics change the the balance... while W was smart enough to reach out to Hispanics.. the republicans as a party have backed SB1070 in Arizona.. they have opposed the dream act... when the demographic bomb hits they will be out of power for a generation..

imagine when Texas turns blue, and Arizona.. the GOP may hold the old south and some Bible thumpers in the midwest, but will be greatly diminished as a political force.. while the voter suppression tactics, and the temporary cash advantage may influence them, ultimately the tide will wash them out.. to quote Sean Hanity "they will find themselves on the wrong side of history" (couldn't resist using that quote)

Just like Florida and New Mexico and Colorado and Nevada have.

I know Colorado has shifted Blue as of late, but I remember when it was red.

i'm in New Mexico...this state voted for W in 04.. (have reason to believe that was stolen).. but we turned Blue in 06, and 08, in 10 one house district went red (actually it was a fluke we took it in 08)..

the good news here this year, is that the Republicans have pulled their money from their senate and house races to put in other more competitive races.. in effect giving the state to the Democratic party.. Arizona and Texas are not that far behind..

Their hatred of the "other" will force them into minority party status.

Makes me wonder whothefuck they are polling

for the last 30 years, and especially since the Gingrich revolution of 94, the party has catered to conservatives, over the years they have gone further and further right... after all that's their base.. with each step to the right they have alienated more and more of the population..

now that the demographics are changing they cant change course because of party purity (like Grover Norquist's tax pledge)..their inability to see beyond the current election cycle has caught them, and created their doom

I hope they resolutely stay the course.
