If these police officers did their duty there would be less gun violence across the country. They need to be held accountable

(12,634 posts)but I know the first person subject is "I", not "me". Even when paired with a third person subject, or in this case, subjects. It's still "I". Always "I". NEVER "me". And certainly never " myself". Just good old "I". That's "I", as in "I"

(66,446 posts)"...and my officers..." is the dependent clause. If you remove the dependent clause, and what remains doesn't make sense, then the sentence is grammatically incorrect. "My officers and I" would have been the right way to word it.
