about competence or incompetence or that he picks his people on that basis.

Trump rewards big donors and boot lickers on the basis of how useful they will be to him. Trump knows nothing of what the government Departments do. He just uses them to further his own agenda. If it takes giving huge tax cuts to the rich people that’s fine because it’s only so he benefits. He doesn’t really care if it benefits others.

5. He practically bragged about never making notes--

though he's obviously got one of the worst memories.

I recall reading his wife (co-owner of the business) was really pissed at him because it was affecting their hotel business.

I can just imagine what he's been hearing at home about that million dollar gift to Trump and what ruin it has bought them.

6. His lack of corroboration of his daily job shows an incompetence

that truly makes me wonder how he ever became wealthy. If he was as cavalier in his hotel business I have no comprehension of how he got rich. Unless he inherited the hotel business.

He’s a good example of the importance of taking copious notes on the job. I can see why the government lifers do it. He sounds completely unprofessional with his pathetic answers.

How can anyone be that sloppy and still be successful enough to be a millionaire?

Maybe his wife does all the work. Who knows.

14. Yes. The ones I've known rely 100% on someone competent under them

Or a bunch of professional people. I’ve had managers that didn’t know shit but we made them look like they were great just by doing our jobs and they were glad to take all the credit. It’s the big pretend game.

But this guy is supposed to own hotels. Supposedly he isn’t just picking up a paycheck. And supposedly he knows his business down to the mints on the pillows.

11. He didn't have to be sharp, all he needed was a willingness to kiss Trump's ass.

Made a big difference in being chosen as ambassador to the EU rather than, say, Madagascar.
