It ain’t restricted to Russian oligarchs.

Also interest rates have kept deliberately low since 2008 to force people into stocks.

"Also interest rates have kept deliberately low since 2008 to force people into stocks."

Exactly right! I have been saying the same thing for a very long time.
Not only stocks are in a bubble, so are house prices as well due to artificially low interest rates below real inflation.
Based on Price earnings ratio is based on average inflation-adjusted earnings from the previous 10 years, known as the Cyclically Adjusted PE Ratio (CAPE Ratio), Shiller PE Ratio, or PE 10, stocks are more over-valued now than at the peak in 1929 just before the crash.

That's my guess as well. Moneygrubbers everywhere know they'll never have it better than a lawless, incompetent government unable and/or unwilling to make and enforce laws for the common good.

First off, it would probably take trillions of dollars to do any serious moving of stock prices. The current market is not like the 1920s when it really was possible for one or two people to manipulate the price of a specific stock.

A lot of the market is invested in things like pension plans and 401k plans. Yeah, it's still true that a huge portion of the market is owned by the top 10% of Americans.

And why would the average Russian oligarch give a flying fuck about Trump? Why would that average oligarch be willing to lose large sums of his own money if this truly were a bubble that will come crashing down?

And in fact, the current P/E ratios of the stocks in the Dow is not at all in overpriced territory. So anyone here who is selling everything, or sold everything at any point since Trump took office, is not making a good financial move.

... US treasuries being bent because of this stupid trade war is also part of reason equities keep going up; no where to put big money for returns

To make a profit, not to help Trump. But yeah people all over the world are putting money in the stock market because it's going up like crazy right now.

Back then, it wasn't the Russians but a clever group of Saudis.

They secretly poured billions into the stock market, and then dropped the price of oil to $10, once they had a huge portfolio of U.S. (non-oil, of course) stocks. The value of the billions poured into the US market tripled (or something like that) in a week. They had then planned to raise the price of oil slowly back to where it was, but after they had cashed in. It didn't quite all work out in the end--this was a LONG time ago, and I forget where my copy of the book is.
