Why aren’t people out in the streets? Why aren’t students marching like in Hong Kong? Is the game over? Is everyone exhausted by the Russian takedown of our democracy (among others)?

Is it all just too much— Russia, “the chosen one,” the “God put the imperfect vessel in the highest office” evangelicals? All the neo-nazis, Proud Boys and other Trump-adoring nutcases? Is there still a lingering expectation that some Republicans will suddenly turn on their monarch? (Not likely, at this point.)

Or is everyone now just focused on surviving, worried about themselves, and the concept of a “greater good” is now nonexistent?

Hopefully, everyone is aware of what’s at stake in 2020 (hint: EVERYTHING), and will vote in an election that’s primed for serious fuckery, so Democratic turnout has to be historic. Then comes the biggest battle— getting that fucker OUT of the White House, and cleaning up the massive mess that 45 & Co. have made of things.

Republicans will fight like crazy against any potential changes in the EC, because without it, they’d lose every election.

1) Many of them are working harder and longer hours than ever, or have heavier responsibilities than ever like aging parents to tend, disabled family members, and so on; and

2) Becauae marching in this country hasn’t accomplished anything in decades now. People don’t like wasting their time on meaningless gestures.

Start doing something that actually, you know, works, and they might be more willing to stand up. But they aren’t going to bother with lolly-gagging down a street in a deserted downtown to shout at the air.
