what is trending on DU right now

Monkey post about Darrow,2 posts about Trump did this or that? a Baby Goat, and another poll.
I have spent a couple hours replying and yes, fighting on another post here. Now I see what is trending.
It is why I fear for this country. I do not understand this new media world. I do not understand just reading short snippets and feeling like I know whole situation. I do not understand how I could ever do these points and feel comfortable to do my duty and VOTE, if I was this uninformed. half of Trumps base is exactly this,,, reading snippets and believing.

How Harris' campaign unraveled, what Sanders wrote decades ago, AOC accuses Buttigieg of spreading a GOP talking point, and there's more about Yang and Booker, too. That's just a sprinkling of prominent ones at the moment.

The Republicans must be gleeful about how we eat our own.

I support Joe and a female as VP, as I have posted before,, 1 simple reason,, I do not wish Biden for 8 years. I ,for our country wants someone who step in on day 1 and not have to learn the WH and its idiosyncrasies , and can spend the rest of his 4 years , getting Warren or Harris ( my 2nd 3rd choices) comfortable to take over in 2024

2016 primaries had less in-fighting because there were only 2 candidates.
But GOP side in 2016 was brutal, with Trump throwing insults at his opponents.
I am sure the democratic candidates will unite AFTER the primaries are over and we have a nominee.

It is what they want,,us ignoring, blocking, and just generally causing chaos WITHIN US. it is time to stand up outside of DU, which I do regularly, and even inside,,we cannot just be complacent and choose what we want to ignore. Type your truths,,take the backlash on DU and defend your heart. This is a political site, by definition, too many think this is a feel good site for us Democrats. This exact thought ,that I have had in past, is what Trump ,Vlad and cronies are exposing and exploiting. SO I choose to post honestly what I see and have learned over my years.

Democratic candidates since are doing well in suburban Republican strongholds. Impeachment hearings are underway. Democrats are engaged leading up to the primaries. Young people are actively engaged over many issues, particularly climate change. Pushback is fierce against the bullshit being spewed all over social media. Voter registration among young people is up, or so I hear.

Stay out of Primaries forum until the dust settles -- a lot of us do. Stay out of DU Lounge if you don't want to laugh and relax about a baby goat or a kitten. Explore the hobby forums, such as Cooking, Backyard Chickens, and Photography -- unless they aren't serious enough either.

Try to understand that for some of us, DU is practically family, a safe space where we can express ourselves (within boundaries, like families), find emotional support (this past week, for the first time in my entire life I asked for prayers, and got an overwhelming response), and laugh or cry.

Politics is a huge part of our lives, or we wouldn't be here. But it's not the only thing, and so a community has been formed since 2001.

Hope you find your niche.

One of many actions. Editorials will take you into more in-depth informative thoughts. There are many facets to this DU site. Any many souls banning together in politics and friendship. Have you been here for the Kudzu thread?
We are silly at times, but we are not unaware at how Trump is a critical danger to our democracy. We have lawyers and doctors and artists and mill workers and office workers and zoo workers and thousands of varied personalities.
We are here because we know this country is under construction and we must build a more perfect union under civil liberties and respectful laws. We are fighting and discontent with the degradation of our discord because of the end of the Fairness Doctrine which allows lies to pass as truth on the national media and the corrupt judgment of the Supreme Court, with the legal thought that corporations are people, and the appointment of political judges and the Republicans rising from the ashes of their despicable acts and telling us that they are the strong ones. God, it is beyond exasperating. We talk and we settle our souls and we go on day after day with our lives and we plan with each other and support each other.

And we act. Write your Senators. Call them. Go to their offices. Find your lawyer friends to advise you. Fight the deletion of fruitful regulatory laws. Give us your input. And most of all vote.We used to have Will Pitt an amazing writer here to inspire us. He has been gone for probably years . We have H2O and Mineral Man who carry us, but we need many more like them. I truly love those who have stayed and contributed. We are many and we are the strong ones. We will overcome the scourge. We can make an avalanche.

for your insights and thoughts. I really enjoyed the ones about it being a holiday weekend and I should relax. I enjoyed the ones about what I should post in detail, ( I have, detail posting takes more than 3 sentences)

I will just respond to the first objection about holiday weekend,, do you honestly think that the people who WE ALL BELIEVE are trying to steal our govt are taking 4 days off? Would you like a list of what I have read and who I have talked to in only 2DAYS into these 4 that compelled me to make my post?If you would,,,make space in you email accounts, and I will be happy to copy all my emails I have written and have been answered.

Bottom line is this,, you all proved my point, and yet I still respect your thoughts and opinions. you have reacted to my post, did not ask or know what I have lived through and know in my years.

I will say this , one more time, and slowly,, Trump,Vlad,Mitch,Lindsey, ALL know what I just typed and how you reacted to my post..Can we all slow down and look at the big picture? When it comes to information on any subject we live in a time of an embarrassment of riches.

43. So sorry for offending your sensibilities and sense of seriousness by my baby goat post.

I post a lot of "serious" posts and I really don't feel like being judged by you for what I post in the Lounge, which is a place to RELAX and decompress. If you don't think that kindness towards animals is important, please feel free to ignore them. I happen to feel that they help maintain my sanity in this very horrific world. And if you think we're such a bunch of slackers and infighters, why bother sticking around? Frankly, It's offputting that you feel the need to scold us because you think we aren't "serious" enough 24/7. And as far as the Primaries forum goes, debate is healthy, and to disagree is human. We aren't "eating our own." Give me a break. Sheesh.

Plenty disagreed with your assumption that DU is trivial.

As another poster suggested, perhaps you’ll find another community that will better meet your needs. Good luck!

Your grammar is suspect ("feeling like I know whole situation" "how I could ever do these points" etc) and every time you post one of these screeds, it seems only to be to show us how superior you are. And to call anyone who pushes back at you a troll. PS, your post contributes nothing while it complains that others contribute nothing.

Perhaps you should find a smarter site.
