being the gentleman he is, he just wants to ensure her there will be no unintended interruptions while she is advising him.
I don’t even want to imagine that, let alone really see it. 
melaria is vapid but tries hard to appear that she is not. her "be best" bullshit is nothing more than a publicity grift. and the separate rooms. she maybe vapid but not stupid. LOL
