Stanford Law School professor Pamela Karlan hammered Rep. Doug Collins (R-GA) on Wednesday after he had questioned whether she and other House Judiciary Committee witnesses had bothered to read transcripts and reports about the House impeachment inquiry against President Donald Trump.
In her opening statement, Karlan immediately took issue with Collins claim that witnesses called before todays hearings did not have time to read and digest all the relevant information about Trumps efforts to pressure Ukraine to investigate his political opponents.
She then outlined how the presidents actions warrant his impeachment and removal from office.

(28,795 posts)so they take a cue from trump and turn into babies saying nah nee nah nee i can't hear you i know you are but what am i i'm not a puppet you're the puppet.
they got nothing. i literally just heard Wallace say that, and i've been saying that since Benghazi and Hillary's emails. it's so frustrating that these elected officials are so wedded to their dead dream of permanent one party rule that they are willing to throw out the constitution.
Lock him up.

(24,703 posts)and to add more insult to this Collins enabling traitor.......................
Here Mr. Collins, I would like to say to you, sir, that I read transcripts of every one of the witnesses who appeared in the live hearing because I would not speak about these things without reviewing the facts, she said.

(28,862 posts)He claimed it was OK for Trump to withhold Ukrainian funds
because he was concerned about corruption in Ukraine.
I guess that will be the official defense for that.
The scholars were great. Karlan even quoted Samuel
Johnson's 1792 dictionary definition of bribery.
She was GREAT !!!

(11,098 posts)Each has different objectives and mindsets. Practicing lawyers are focused on their clients and their cases. Law professors are focused simultaneously on fine points and the broad sweep of the law in an academic sense. Practicing lawyers are advocates, while law professors are educators.
However, for both lawyers and law professors, it is a mistake to assume (in the absence of evidence) that either is going to show up on game day unprepared. It would be the height of folly to assume that a nationally respected law professor would appear in a high visibility hearing - on national television, no less - without knowing the facts and the law dead cold.

(9,426 posts)The gop on the other hand are just chomping at the bit for their 5 minutes "on camera" trying to impress the Orange Ass. To hell with the facts. I would venture to say not one of the gop has read all the materials that others have. Their minds are made up, not guilty on all counts. I wonder if they are trying to impress Putin as the next leader of the USA? He certainly likes dumb politicians, look who he put into the WH. tRump has succeeded beyond Putin's wildest dreams of tearing this country apart, with lots of help from the traitors in the gop. People had better wake up to REALITY before it is too late.
