Link to tweet
Uhh it seems pretty relevant that, even back in February, Jonathan Turley was tweeting and writing in the Hill about Ukraine collusion? https://jonathanturley.org/2019/02/24/is-mueller-uncovering-ukrainian-rather-the-russian-collusion/

(4,341 posts)That is why he has that bogus argument that the process has gone too fast...well jackass, it has gone fast because the evidence already gathered is enough to impeach the mother^&*^*!

(4,392 posts)Rather indicative of just how effective Russia continues to be and was in 2016; Solomon indeed; let's just split the American baby to find truth and a killed baby...but not disregard MY personal bias that a monarch is always above the reproach of bias as supplied by addicts, conspiracy kooks, and greedy liars on a money/resource mission rather than American Intelligence sources? He might even consider that an "oxymoran" that relies on just what, fact or fantasy, for a conclusion?
Yup, he needs to be asked about that tweet in context and if it reached the level of his personal belief or was just an academic challenge to go exploring those constitutional amendments.
H2O Man
(73,543 posts)In person, he is a bitter, aging man who is frustrated that he has not been put on a federal bench. In fact, he believes that he should be appointed to the Supreme Court. This is why he is behaving on television in the manner we are seeing.

(4,341 posts)Really? And how fast or slow should it go? Is there a min and max that no one knows about?
Somebody should ask him...Prof. Turley, lets have a hypothetical...you are working for a client, and you need to hold an inquiry, I am a key witness whom you need to interrogate, you ask me to appear and I say "go fuck yourself", so you subpoena me and I say "go fuck yourself, my friend, who you are investigating told me not to appear". Besides being obscene, is it OK for me to ignore your subpoena? Am I in contempt of the law? Is my friend obstructing justice, or are we on our right to tell you to "fuck off"?
The fact that trump has been found to obstruct justice so many times and continues to do so should be enough for anyone who thinks to understand that impeachment is in order.
Turley is a big disappointment, I hope he doesn't get any students next semester. His rational for being against impeachment defies any logic, and I am not a lawyer but I have to think that it defies any of the impeachment laws as well.
I am not a witness and not being subpoenaed but...Turley, go and fuck yourself!

The special counsel recently persuaded a federal judge to toss out the cooperating witness agreement with Manafort because he allegedly lied about meeting and sharing polling data with Ukrainian oligarch Konstantin Kilimnik, who has reported ties to Russian intelligence.
...
Manafort worked primarily for the interests of notorious former Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych, who was responsible for corruption, alleged murders of protesters, and arrests of opponents. Before Yanukovych fled to Russia, he accumulated a reported estimated net worth of $12 billion. His flight was why Manafort became desperate for money and reached out to Trump for the campaign job. Manafort associate Rick Gates, now a cooperating federal witness, told friends that in every Ukrainian ministry, Manafort has a guy and referred to his work as a shadow government.
One of the most interesting disclosures from the Flynn investigation was a meeting in New York with Ukrainian politician Andrey Artemenko, Trump lawyer Michael Cohen, and Trump business associate Felix Sater. Shortly before Flynn resigned, these figures were working on a deal in which sanctions against Russia would be lifted in exchange for Russia leasing Crimea for 100 years while recognizing Ukrainian sovereignty over that region. Cohen is tied to Ukraine in other ways. He was introduced to Trump by his father in law, Fima Shusterman, a naturalized American citizen from Ukraine. Cohen also ran a taxi medallion business with his business partner, the taxi king Simon Garber, who was born in Ukraine.
It looks like Turley was trying to muddy the waters by calling it 'Ukrainian', though he admits inside the article that it was people allied to Putin's regime, not the Ukrainian government in 2016.

(14,907 posts)So far we have seen no direct connection between the Russians and the Trump campaign as part of a conspiracy to hack the computer systems of the Democrats. We do have is a lot of connections to Ukrainians, along with a lot of money. When the FBI pulled back the curtain from the sordid dealings of former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort, they found Ukrainians aplenty. Manafort was connected to Ukrainian politician Serhiy Lyovochkin and oligarch Rinat Akhmetov, among others, and received at least $60 million for his work. While some of these individuals favored Russia, their main interest was to maintain power and profits in Ukraine. Manafort struggled to satisfy them even as his connections drew attention and, ultimately, resulted in his being dismissed from the Trump campaign.
